Katie Garber, MSW, LCSW-C, LICSW, Director of Volunteer and Care Services, and volunteer members of Capitol Hill Village took time to visit with Gero@FranU and share the many benefits of being part of the village. The goal of Capitol Hill Village is to build a community that supports seniors aging on their own terms. This includes ensuring accessible and safe physical spaces; supporting seniors with services that enhance their quality of life and ensure wellness; and fostering a community that is learning about longevity and its impact on individuals, families, and communities. Capitol Hill Village also ensures that seniors are socially and civically engaged through activities. And through services such as transportation, exercise classes, and informational classes on current trends. They are approximately 600 strong!

Thanks Katie and all of the staff from Capitol Hill Village for sharing so we can bring our learnings back to Baton Rouge!
