A favorite of Fran U students is the ability to simulate. At every opportunity, Fran U goes above and beyond to connect clinical and classroom. A great example would be the use of the Age Wise Kits. Age Wise kits are utilized by our first-semester nursing students. The kit includes items that address common challenges faced by the geriatric population like cognitive decline, vision impairments and mobility issues for daily living activities. The students get a small glimpse into the challenges our seniors face. With the hands-on experience, we hope to teach our students how to better care for this population with sensitivity and compassion.
