Dr. David Reed

Dr. David Reed is an author or co-author on over 100 peer-reviewed publications, primarily concerning long-term care services. Recently retired as the Senior Analyst for the Program on Aging, Disability and Long-Term Care at the University of North Carolina’s Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research, he continues to work with the Iowa Geriatric Education Center, while also holding an adjunct appointment at the University of Iowa College of Nursing and serving on the editorial boards of the Journal of Gerontological Nursing and Research in Gerontological Nursing. The research he has been involved in primarily focuses on family-staff partnerships, dementia care, end-of-life care, oral health care in nursing homes and methods for reducing over-prescribing of antibiotics and antipsychotics.
